

Students are required to complete supervised clinical experiences in all areas of nursing care. The Nursing program prepares individuals to become members of a nursing team in hospitals, long term health care facilities, doctors’ offices, outpatient clinics, and home health care. This program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. While there is some flexibility in performing course requirements, students choosing to register under the Hybrid Practical Nursing program need to have strong computer skills, the ability to manage their time well and be accountable for course material deadlines as well as be a strong independent learner Students will attend classes and/or clinical on campus or at a clinical site, approximately 22 hours a week. As a Hybrid program, a portion of the courses are covered online. The Hybrid Practical Nursing program is the same length, one-year, and covers the same curriculum as our on campus Practical Nursing program. PLEASE READ BEFORE ENROLLING IN THE DOSAGE CALCULATION PRE-REQUISITE COURSE Upon successfully passing the prerequisites, applicants will receive an application packet for the September 2022 Practical Nursing program. The pre-requisites will be offered starting May 2022. Prior to receiving an application for the September 2022 Practical Nursing program, applicants are required to take and pass the prerequisites of Anatomy & Physiology and Dosage Calculations. Graduates will obtain a diploma in Practical Nursing and then be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing.
